Ralph W. Jaeger

Ralph W. Jaeger, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Bethel Home. He was born on June 6, 1928 in Milwaukee the son of the late Walter and Hilda (Gauger) Jaeger. Ralph attended Boys Technical High School in Milwaukee graduating in 1946. He was united in marriage to Marian Kellett on October 29, 1949 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters. Ralph proudly served his country enlisting in active duty during the Korean Conflict from 1949-1952. He was presented the Bronze Star Metal for gallantry in action and also received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action in Korea. Ralph was employed at the VA, Milwaukee doing plastering and tile setting, retiring after 36 years of service. Ralph built the 3 houses that his family grew up in. Upon retiring built a cabin on the Chippewa Flowage. Marian and Ralph enjoyed most of their retirement up in the Hayward area. They loved to have the whole family come up and visit and make new memories. Ralph also enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors.Ralph is survived by his wife, Marian of 64 years, two daughters: Linda (Thomas) Jicha and Cheryl (John) Poweleit, one brother-in-law, K.C. Altekruse, eight grandchildren: Michele (Kevin) Meyer, Alysia (Carlito) Suarez, Nick Jicha, Heather Poweleit, Luke Poweleit, Darin Poweleit, Bejamin Altekruse and Jason Altekruse; one great-granddaughter, Emily Meyer, and one brother, Louis (Ruth) Jaeger, further survived by nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally Altekruse and three sisters: Ellen Szweda, Jennette Cleven and Doris Zoschke. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm noon, on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr, Oshkosh, with Pastor Paul Lidtke officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Bethel Home/Serenity Garden, Oshkosh.The family would like to thank Bethel Home/Serenity Garden for all their wonderful care given to Ralph. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
