Ramona H. Jones

Ramona H. Jones, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Parkview Health Center in Oshkosh, WI. She was born March 6, 1940 in the Town of Arpin (Wood County) to Orville G. and Theresa M. (Mancel) Weber. She attended St. Marys Grade School and Auburndale High School graduating in 1958. She married Lawrence R. Jones on November 25, 1961 in Marshfield, WI. They later divorced.After high school, Ramona began her banking career at Household Finance in Marshfield and later joined the staff of Citizens National Bank & Trust where she worked her way up from teller to loan officer a position very few women held at the time. She truly enjoyed meeting people and helping them with their finances. Before moving to the Fond du lac and Oshkosh area to be closer to family, Ramona was active in the Marshfield Eagles Club Fraternal Order of Eagles Womens Auxiliary where she served as an officer.Ramona was an avid sports fan who actively cheered on the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, NASCAR driver Dale Earnhart Jr., the Columbus Dons and, of course, the Auburndale Apaches. She loved country music and polka dancing and along with three of her friends, took two polka band-sponsored bus tours to dance festivals out West. Given the opportunity, Ramona could play bingo for hours, often talking her kids into joining her at various venues. She enjoyed reading true crime books, especially those by Ann Rule. Ramona took great pleasure in crocheting. Her favorite items to make were doilies and afghans. Each of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren has a hand-made afghan in the colors of his or her choice to remember her by.Ramona is survived by her children, Kathleen (David) Baker, Janet (DuWayne) Schultz, Susan Kratzer, Steven Jones and Thomas (Mary) Jones; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Marine, Nicole Schultz, Nathan Schultz, Kaitlin Jones, Wade Kratzer and Sierra Jones; and three great-grandchildren, Skylar Schultz, Cayden Schultz and Riley Schultz. She is further survived by her siblings, Lois (William) Zygarlicke, Marcella Plowman, Lucille (John) Ritchie and Peter Weber, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.A memorial mass will be held for Ramona Jones on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Auburndale, WI at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Jesse Burish officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to charities of your choice in honor of Ramona.
