Randall Kurt Mueckler, age 44 died unexpectedly June 9, 2008 in Aurora, Colorado. He resided in Greely, Colorado. Randy was born April 14, 1964 in Mercy Hospital, Oshkosh, WI. He was the son of Harland and Alene Tornow Westover Mueckler. Randy attended Grace Lutheran School and Oshkosh West High School. He was a graduate of UW-Stevens Point with a double major in Biology and Wildlife Research. He initially worked for the Wisconsin D.N.R. His next job led him to southern Colorado to work on a wild turkey research project. He fell in love with the state with the beautiful mountains and stayed for 21 years. Randy was employed as a truck driver the majority of his life. He started with UPS in Boulder, CO. He was very proud of himself when he successfully parallel-parked a semi-truck with his first attempt. At the time of his death, he was employed by Yellow Freight. Randys multiple endeavors throughout his life included basketball, football, hunting, fishing, golf, camping, hiking, skiing, gardening and landscaping. He was an avid reader and frequently spent his free time researching topics of his interest. A rugged outdoorsman, he served several years as a volunteer forest firefighter. He and his dog, Tasanka were currently traing for Mountain Search and Rescue. Survivors include: his parents of Oshkosh; one sister, Colleen Westover (Tom) Rabe, of Safety Harbor, FL; two brothers: John Mueckler of Boston, MA and Paul Mueckler, U.S. Army Special Forces serving in Afghanistan; a niece, Chelsea Rabe and a nephew, Nicolas Rabe. His ex-wife, Julie also survives. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Erna Mueckler, and Helmuth and Clara Tornow. A service of comfort and prayer will be held Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 11 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh with Rev. Gregg Schoenick officiating. Visitation will be at the church on the corner of 9th and Nebraska Streets at 10 AM. Inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery. An additional service will be held and ashes strewn in the Rocky Mountains. Randy, now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace. We have always loved you and will miss you terribly.
