Raymond E. Poff Sr, 79, Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Aurora Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1936, in Fairfield County, OH, son of Dwight and Mary (Spitler) Poff. Ray married Sharon M. Hicks June 8, 1958, in Canal Winchester, OH. Between the years of 1963-1982, Ray was the ordained minister of St. John Lutheran Church, Town of Nekimi. After that he became the chaplain for Oshkosh Correctional Facility, which he did until he retired in 1998. Ray enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking, and traveling. He was a husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed helping his family with their many projects, and they will miss him dearly. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children: Deborah S. (Danny) Matulle, Raymond E. (Susan) Poff, Jr., and Jennifer C. (Joseph) Kapral; grandchildren: Mary Matulle, Melissa (Cort) LaKosh, Marsha (Joshua) Malnory, Michael Matulle, Amanda (Christopher) Purath, Raymond (special friend Alyx Malouf) Poff III, Ryan Poff, Matthew, Eden, and Jack Kapral; great grandchildren: Cody Miesner, Jason, Dylan, and Madelyn LaKosh, Adrian and Wesley Malnory; 2 sisters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister.Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside (100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh), and again Wednesday at All Saints Lutheran Church (1072 Honeycreek Road, Oshkosh) from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Kim Krogstad will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Town of Nekimi. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) or the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic within Aurora Medical Center.Rays family would like to express a sincere thank you to Dr. Dar and the nursing staffs of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, and Aurora Medical Center, for their care and compassion toward Ray.
