Raymond "Ray" L. Klapa, age 84, passed away peacefully at Meadowbrook of Appleton on January 8, 2025. He was born in Oshkosh , WI, on December 4, 1940, son of Edward and Lillian (Tews) Klapa.
Ray worked for the Canadian Pacific Railroad in Chicago and then Milwaukee. Upon retirement he returned to Oshkosh.
He spent much of his time antiquing, thrifting, and junking with his sisters. They always had a great time finding beautiful treasures. He also enjoyed his many dogs over the years. He always had one or two. They were his kids and he loved them deeply. He was a member of Trinty Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his sister, Janet LeDioyt; sister-in-law, Janet Klapa; he is further survived by his nieces, Renee (Tom) Borisch, Bobbie (Vance) Kramer, Wendy (Jack) Doemel; nephews, Gordon (Wendy) LeDioyt, and Randy (Sandy) Harwood; great-nieces, great-nephews, and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Klapa; sister, Mary Jane Dustman; brothers-in-law, Wayne LeDioyt, and Douglas Dustman; nephew, Douglas Marx.
Private family services will be held.
A memorial will be established in Ray's name at the Oshkosh Humane Society.
