Rexford Richard Peterson

Rexford R. Peterson, age 85, formerly of Wisconsin, died Thursday September 4, 2014 in Peru, Illinois. He was born on March 5, 1929 in Omro, Wisconsin to Arthur and Mabel Luker Peterson. On October 12, 1951 he married Marion Becker in Zion, Wisconsin.Rexford was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was an Industrial Arts Teacher at the Germantown High School for 31 years. He enjoyed woodcarving, all Wisconsin sport teams, hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, photography, reading, traveling, Western films, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.He is survived by his children Val Menenberg, Guy(SharylLynn) Peterson, Glen(Kristyn) Peterson; his grandchildren Aaron Menenberg, Amy Peterson, Andrea Peterson, and Aliyah Peterson; brothers Delbert(Barb) Peterson, Winston(Jean) Peterson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion; his daughter, Lynn Peterson Walther; his brothers Vernon, Kenneth, Oscar, Rendal, Merwayne; and his sisters Emma, Margie, Grace, Velva, Dorothy, Gertrude, Althea, and Druscilla.Funeral services for Rexford will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Rev. Jennifer Czarnota officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park where full military honors will be held.A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank IVCH, OSF Hospital, Fresenius Dialysis Center, and St. Margaret ParaTransportation.
