Rhonald Wayne Augsburger

Rhonald W. Augsburger, 74, of Oshkosh, died Friday, January 9, 2009 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1934 in Oshkosh the son of Gabriel and Lillian Geiger Augsburger. On July 31, 1959 he married Arlene Dehn in Oshkosh.He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the quarter century club from Wisconsin Public Service for whom he worked for over 31 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, viewing wildlife from his window at home and all aspects of the outdoors. He played accordion and loved polka music. He enjoyed playing cards especially sheepshead, traveling and was known for his great sense of humor. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and his beloved sweetie of nearly 50 years Arlene.He is survived by his wife Arlene, two sons Michael(Dawn) Augsburger, Alan(Fiancee Shaune Himmler) Augsburger all of Oshkosh, one daughter Carol(special friend Jeff Bessette) Augsburger of Neenah, grandchildren Steven Lanzer, Theresa Augsburger, Jacob Augsburger, Elizabeth Augsburger, Ryan Augsburger, Josh Hoffman, Andy Augsburger, Andrew Buege, James Buege, Hannah Buege, and close cousin Owen Bud Augsburger.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son John Augsburger, and his sister Lorraine Peterson.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 14, 2009 at noon at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 13, 2009 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be performed.A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff at Aurora Medical Center for their care of Rhonald.
