Richard Cater Kossel

Richard C. Kossel, age 93, died Monday August 11, 2014. He was born on April 17, 1921 in the Town of Nekimi a son of Elmer and Ruth Cater Kossel. On June 10, 1940 he married Lois Bridge in Oshkosh. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2002.He was Past President of the Omro Businessmans Association, and had owned and operated a wide variety of small businesses during his lifetime.He is survived by his son James (Carol) Kossel of Oshkosh, two daughters Joan (Robert Jr.) Wolff of Eureka, Judy (Thomas) Steckbauer of Oshkosh, two grandchildren Jodi Wolff, Kelli Kossel, one brother Robert (Elaine) Kossel Sr. of Oshkosh, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog Tinker.He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse, one brother and sister-in-law Howard (Doris) Kossel, and an infant sister Margaret Kossel.Funeral services for Richard will be held on Thursday August 14, 2014 at noon at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family would like to thank the staff at Park View Health Center for their kind care of Richard especially during his final days.
