Richard Duex

Richard A. Duex, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at Appleton Medical Center.Richard was born on January 22, 1929 in Oshkosh to the late Henry and Hattie (Schuster) Duex. He married Aileen Payne on October 6, 1951 in Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and followed that with a year of college. He then served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Gainard. Richard then worked at the U.S. Postal Services as a Regional Financial Director for many years.Throughout life Richard was a huge sports fanatic. He enjoyed basketball, football, and baseball at any level, especially high school and college. He also wood carved and he loved traveling.He is survived by his wife, Aileen of Oshkosh; two sons, Edward of Neenah and Deral of Oshkosh; three grandsons, Jason (Sunshine) Duex of Denver, CO, Anthony Duex of New London, and Timothy Duex of Las Vegas, NV; and one great grandchild Briella Duex.Richard was preceded in death by his parents.A funeral service for Richard will take place at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish St Peters Church on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating.Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Richard will be laid to eternal rest at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
