Richard J. Johnson, age 63, of Oshkosh, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 in Minneapolis, MN. Richard was born in Menomonie, WI on November 26, 1942 the son of Philip and Carol Servick Johnson. He married Marsha Hamilton on January 2, 1965 in Rantoul, IL.Dick taught industrial arts at Perry Tipler Middle School and Oshkosh West High School. He was a teacher in Oshkosh for thirty-seven years. Dick also coached track and soccer. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church were he served on council, sang in the choir and was involved in the Mens Club. During his summers, he taught drivers education to many students with much appreciation from parents. In Addition, while his sons were growing up, he was an active Boy Scout Leader. He loved woodworking, fishing, playing cards and being with friends and family. What delighted him the most was spending time with his family and cherished grandchildren.Survivors include his best friend and wife of forty-one years, Marsha; sons, James (Kris) of Chanhassen, MN, Jay (Jenny) of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Adam, Emily and Ian of Chanhassen, MN; brother, Robert (Carol) Johnson of Janesville, WI; sister, Anne (Monte) Johnson of Weed, CA; mother-in-law, Betty Michaels of Oshkosh; his constant companion, Daisy and many other loving relatives and friends.Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Carol Johnson and one sister, Alice Conlon.A memorial service will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 6:00 PM at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2580 W Ninth Ave, Oshkosh. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a scholarship fund in Dicks name.
