Richard J. Jarzynka, age 89, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest of 4 children of Alexander and Catherine (Kern) Jarzynka. Richard was in the 5th battalion of the U.S.M.C. and stormed the beach of Iwo Jima at the age of 17. After WWII he enlisted in the USAF and retired after 20 years, having served in the Pacific and Korea.Richard worked at Morgans then Mercury Marine for 20 years.Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce. They met on Valentines Day, married a week later, they were married for 65 years and will now be together forever.He is survived by his five children and their families, Carol A. Paul of Oshkosh, Pamela J. (Ken) Mand of De Pere, Susan M. Klug of Appleton, Linda K. Lynch of Oshkosh and his son, Richard M. Sandy) of Oshkosh. He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd., with Father Matt Simonar officiating. Friends and family may visit at the Lake View Chapel from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Full Military Honors will take place after the service.
