Richard Leroy Warner

January 15, 1935 — December 21, 2010

Richard Leroy Warner, 75, of Oshkosh passed away on his beloved Mamas birthday, Saturday December 21, 2010 at Park View Health Center, from declining health conditions. He was born on January 15, 1935 in Oshkosh to Rose Geiger Warner Laatsch and Jerome Warner Sr. He lived his entire life in Oshkosh and previously resided at Court Tower, Centennial Inn, and Harbor House. Richard was a devoted caregiver to his first dog, Buffy, and second dog, Peggy, who was often seen walking her and stopping to talk to anyone willing to give a friendly pat to Peggy. Most of his life, he rode the transit system and could tell you every route and time of all bus runs. Later years he enjoyed going to Schultz Bistro for breakfast and chat with friends. He found pride in his independence while getting around on his motorized scooter. He really treasured his bowling trophies, which he proudly displayed. Richard cheered for the Packers and Wisconsin Badgers and loved old movies (John Wayne was a favorite) and of course Patsy Kline, Elvis, and other singers. He is survived by his sister Sandra A. (Larry) Ebel, aunt Ethel Penzenstadler, step-brothers Gene (Berta) Laatsch, Donald (Dolly) Laatsch, step-sister Yvonne Fritz, sister-in-law Geraldine Warner, nephews John (Kelly) Conger and James (Donna) Warner, and nieces Cathy (Ken) Wendler, Vicky (John) Staehler, Sheri (Dale) Applebee, and Dawn (Chris) Deringer. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father, brother, Jerome Warner Jr., aunt, Josephine (Gale) McAuley, uncles, Henry Zimmerman, John Penzenstadler, and recently a cousin, Jackie Schultz. Memorial services for Richard will be held Tuesday Dec. 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Allen Krause officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial to Park View Health Center and Oshkosh Humane Society has been established. A heartfelt thank you to Parkside 2 for the respect and love you showed my brother. Annie, Diane, Kim, and Kathy you made our lunch times so enjoyable, hugs to all of you. Shannon your kind gestures were deeply appreciated.
