Richard Lyle Schuhart

Richard L. Schuhart Sr., of Oshkosh, died on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at his home. He was born on September 11, 1928 in Oshkosh the son of John and Mary Hartman Schuhart. He married Marcella Hohenwalter on October 22, 1949 in Oshkosh. Marcella preceded him in death on December 13, 1995.Richard was a member of St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked at South Side Wood and Coal and then at Rockwell International. From 1960 to 1974 he owned and operated Dicks Ponies and for the last 28 years he enjoyed cash crop farming with his son, Dennis. He liked fishing and hunting and had a great love of animals especially his last dog, Sandy.Survivors include two sons, Richard (Ann) Schuhart Jr. of Marinette, Dennis Schuhart of Oshkosh; one daughter, Shirley Guse of Oshkosh; one brother, Robert (Beverly) Schuhart of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Alan) Block, and Jeremy Schuhart both of Marinette, Sarah Guse and Leah (fianc, Harvey Meyer) Guse both of Oshkosh; and two great grandchildren, Serenity and Caleb Block both of Marinette.Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and eleven brothers and sisters.The funeral service will be on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church (1100 E. Murdock Ave.) with the Rev. Karen Jewell officiating. Family and friends may visit at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and at the Church from 10:00 AM to the time of service Friday. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
