Richard Pennau

Richard R. Pennau, 85, of Oshkosh, Wl, surrounded by his loving family and wife Audrey of 63 years of marriage went to be with the Lord on May 13th 2008 after a courageous bout with cancer.Richard was born in Oshkosh October 7,1922 the son of John and Linda (Kelpert) Pennau, both of whom are deceased. On March 5, 1945 he married Audrey Below in Oshkosh, who survives him. He was a charter member of the Waushara Community Church in Wautoma. He attended Oshkosh schools, graduating Oshkosh High School in 1940 followed by several trade and sales schools. He worked for his father in the heatingand appliance business until after his fathers death when he became associated with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co of Oshkosh and A J Greenkorn Bottling Co. in 1955. He and his wife Audrey later became owners of the business and their children also joined the Company. They continued the operation of this business until it was sold in 1989. He also served as President of Wis-Pak, Inc, Watertown, WI for several years. He was alsoChairman of the Board of Beverage Bottlers, Inc, Wisconsin Rapids, WI until 1989. He was Chairman of the Board of Two Oaks North Golf Club and Two Oaks North Realty in Wautoma. Richard was a member of Oshkosh Elks Lodge #292, Oshkosh Lodge #27 Free & Accepted Masons. Tyrian Chapter #15 RAM, The Valley of Green Bay, Beja Shrine Temple, Eastern Star and Winnebagoland Shrine Club. He loved to travel and usually spent the winters in Hawaii and Texas, and summers inOshkosh. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Pennau, Oshkosh; five children, a daughter, Sharon (Don) Persons, Hawaii, Bob (Cherie) Pennau, Oshkosh, Steve (Kathleen) Pennau, Wautoma, Don (Sue) Pennau, Pilot Point, Texas, and Rick (Pam) Pennau, Pickett, WI; nine grandsons and three granddaughters, fourteen great grandsons and six great granddaughters. He is also survived by two brothers, John (Rita) Pennau, Oshkosh and James (Wendy) Pennau, Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by one sister, Audrey(Arlis) Morrison, and by one brother, Karl (Janice) Pennau.Please In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established as the Richard & Audrey Pennau Fund, Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, 404 N. Main St. #205, Oshkosh, WI 54901.As Richard requested a memorial service will be Sunday May 18, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside with Pastors Al Spitler and Ed Riddick officiating. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
