Richard W. Kaltenbach, age 89, passed away at his residence on the morning of Friday, September 16, 2022. He was born to the late Emil and Amelia (Lautenschlager) Kaltenbach on October 7, 1932, in Omro Wisconsin. After graduating from Omro High School, Richard went into the United States Army in 1953 where he served his country until his honorable discharge in 1955. After being discharged from the army he married the love of his life, Barbara Ruby, in October of 1956 in Oshkosh.
Richard spent his 38 year career as a machinist working at Bergstrom Paper Mill.
Richard enjoyed playing golf, bowling, volleyball, and playing cards (sheepshead) with his friends. He also loved grilling for the family, and always was ready for the Friday fish fry at Jeff’s on Rugby.
Richard is survived by his three children Lynn (Wayne) Feldner, Mark (Sheri) Kaltenbach, and Jeffrey (Kathy) Kaltenbach; grandchildren, Katie (Nate), Joshua (Faby), Sarah (Beely) ; Step grandchildren Robert (Becca), Matthew (Emmie), Caitlyn (Lance), and Scott; great grandchildren, Calum, Levi, Yan, Leo; and brother, Edward (Betty) Kaltenbach
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; step grandson Christopher; and sister Joan (Dennis) Kinderman.
A service for Richard will be held at First United Methodist Church 700 W. Linwood Ave. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 1 PM. Rev. Russ Frees will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service. A burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, or First United Methodist Church.
