Rita Margaret Schmude

Rita M. Schmude, 55, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday August 29, 2006 at St Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee. Rita was born October 28, 1950 in Oshkosh, a daughter of William and Margaret Schmude. Rita graduated from Omro High School. She attended UW-Oshkosh, Wartburg College in Waverly Iowa, and Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in special education and elementary education from Carthage College, graduating with honors. She attended UW-Oshkosh, Cardinal Stritch, and UW-Whitewater at the graduate level, receiving an additional certification in Learning Disabilities from UW-Whitewater. She worked as an Elementary Special Education Teacher for the Kenosha Unified School District and Fond du Lac Public School System. Rita was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Bethel Shrine #2, Kappa Chi Omega Sorority, and Wisconsin Education Association. Rita is survived by her mother, Margaret of Oshkosh, two Uncles, Kenneth (Rose Barron) Wickman of CT, and Robert (Joan) Wickman of NV, and an Aunt, Thelma Schmude of Berlin. She was preceded in death by her father, William, grandparents, Roy (Edna) Wickman, and Albert (Meta) Schmude, and two Uncles, Lawrence Wickman, and Norman Schmude. Funeral service for Rita will be held on Friday, September 1, 2006 at 7:00 pm at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Eastside, with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday beginning at 4:00 pm until the hour of service. Private burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park.
