Robert F. Kind, 74 of Black Wolf died Saturday February 28, 2009 at his home. He was born in Fond du Lac County on October 27, 1934 son of Frank and Laura Gantner Kind. On July 27, 1968 he married the love of his life, Carol A. Hartman in Van Dyne, WI. Bob graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1953 and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Van Dyne,WI. Bob was a charter member of the Van Dyne Lions Club and served on the Van Dyne Fire Dept. for 25 years. He worked for the Oshkosh Truck Corp. until his retirement in 1998. He had also worked at Farnwald Farms, Ken Saylars Garage (specializing in VWs), Oshkosh Shipping Association Garage, Lloyds Lazy Lounge, and Shilobrits Cleaners. He loved bowling and had been in the Mens League at Van Dyne Lanes. Bob enjoyed people and people enjoyed Bob. He spent his years after his retirement in tending the yard at his home. He enjoyed spending times BSing with his friends at the local watering hole.His survivors include his son, Jonathan (Heidi) Kind of Oshkosh; daughter, Robyn (fianc Kevin Konrad) Kind of Oshkosh; infant grandson, Aiden Rober Kind of Oshkosh; brothers, David (Mary) Kind, Larry (Helen) Kind, Carlton (Jackie) Kind, and Don (Marge) Gantner all of Oshkosh; sisters/in/law, Nancy Kind, Vicki (Ron) Koch all of Oshkosh, and Laurie Carpenter of Appleton, WI; brother/in/law, Marty (Judy) Hartman of Oshkosh; and extended family and uncountable friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother Gene Kind, his mother and father/in/law, Marge and Clarence Hartman, and brother/in/law, James Carpenter.A time of visitation will be on Wednesday March 4, 2009 from 4-7 PM at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. At Bobs request there will be no formal funeral service. A memorial has been established.The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Crew of Oshkosh Fire Dept. Med 15 and the Van Dyne First Responders for their quick response and compassion in our time of need; Bob would have been proud of them.
