Robert H. Wagner, 85 of Oshkosh, died Saturday August 18, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. He had been residing at the Harbor House for the last eight months. He was born in Oshkosh on February 22, 1922 the son of Henry and Helene Hollander Wagner. He attended Grace Lutheran School and graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1940. On December 23, 1944 he married Cordelia Woodruff. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1965. On November 22, 1972 he married Jane Behm. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2004.Robert had been employed by the Leach Co. in Oshkosh for 46 years and was a founding member of the Leach Credit Union (now Oshkosh Community Credit Union) and was a member of the 25 year club at Leach. He was a lifelong member of the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh and his grandmother had been a founding member of the church. He was very active in the life of the church having served on the Church Council, its Mens Club, a member of the Senior Choir for 63 years, the church school board and last served as purchasing agent for the church. He was also involved in numerous other activities to numerous to mention. He had served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and had been stationed at Cochran Field in Macon, GA as an aircraft mechanic. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Robert had sung with the Winnebago Barbershoppers for over 25 years and belonged to the Apollo Mens Chorus. He directed the Senior Center Choir for 10 years.Robert is survived by his son, John (Ladonna) Wagner of Yukon, OK, a step-son, Terry Behm of Kenosha, WI, and a step-daughter, Barbara Behm of Greenville, WI. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Nikki (Danny) Hamby of Yukon, OK, a great granddaughter, Presley, a sister-in-law, Luella Sellin of Kenton, OH, step brother-in-law, Richard (Ruth) Bixby of Waupun, WI, nieces, Lois Erickson of Redding, CA, Lorraine (Fred) Behlendorf of Oshkosh, Barbara Long of Kenton, OH, Patricia (Wayne) Olgesbee of Alger, OH, and Judith (David) Zarter of Oshkosh, and step nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Julius and Harry Sellin, and sisters, Erna Reiter and Esther Bergquist.Funeral services for Robert will be on Tuesday August 21, 2007 at 11:30 AM at the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gregg Schoeneck officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial to the Grace Lutheran Church School has been established.
