Robert John Hartman

January 7, 1933 — September 21, 2005

Robert J. Hartman, age 72, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, at Mercy Medical Center following complications associated with cancer. Rob was born in Oshkosh on January 7, 1933 a son of John and Helen (Sammons) Hartman. He was a graduate of Ripon High School. He worked for several companies including part ownership of Meyers Office Machines. Rob was a man with numerous skills and abilities and there wasnt anything he couldnt repair or build-including their beautiful home in the country. He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he was an usher, council member, and served on numerous committees. He was the loving and deeply devoted husband and best friend to his wife Nancy (Wettstein). Rob and Nancy were married on February 28, 1953 at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. They shared 53 years of laughs, love and affection. With their love they raised three sons, Bob who preceded Robert in death, Ric of Menomonee Falls, Randy (and a very special daughter-in-law Vicki) of Oshkosh. Rob loved spending time with his two perfect grandchildren Hannah and Blake. He is further survived by his brother, Wallace (June) Clark, sister, Delores (Jim) Bahr, sister-in-law Bernice Clark, many nieces, nephews and a loving sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Dale Pommerening. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Phyllis Nelson, and a brother, Carroll Clark. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005 (Today) at 12:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Rev. Milton Staskal officiating. Visitation will be held today at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Rob will be especially remembered for his unique humor, love of people, willingness to help, share advice, and give an explanation. He loved his church, was especially handy, he loved to play cards and work around his home, and had a love of chocolate. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of MMC for their love and kindness shown to Rob.
