Robert M. Gago, age 56, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly while working in upstate New York on March 20. 2011. He was born March 23, 1954 in Phillips, Wisconsin a son of Andrew and Mary Tadin Gago. On December 6, 1985 he married Mary Splitt in Wausau.As a Professional Athletic Painter, Bob worked in the athletic flooring industry for the past 30 years where he masterfully painted lines, logos and miscellaneous detailed artwork on flooring and running tracks. His job allowed him the advantage of traveling all over the Unites States and abroad, where he left his trademark painting on the floor of many schools, universities, Olympic and professional athletic complexes. Over the years Bob shared the knowledge of his trade with his children and nephews who joined his summer painting crew. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, spending time outdoors with his two best dogs Max & Charger, the hunting shack, and golf cart rides with his buddy Rayleigh. He also loved the outdoors, the Packers, and kids.He is survived by his wife, Mary, two children Bryan and Danielle, all of Oshkosh, his siblings, Diane(Ron) Tingo, of Phillips, Darrell(Diane) Gago of Tony, Larry(Dorothy) Gago of Turtle Lake, Mike(Barb) Gago of Phillips, Tony(Vicki) Gago of Phillips, Cindy Gago of St Paul, his mother Mary of Phillips, three sisters-in-law Patricia(Jon) Kester of Appleton, Marsha(Andrew) Spees of Plainfield, Judith(Richard) Welch of Pewaukee, many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and dear friends Scott, Wendy and Rayleigh Okon.He was preceded in death by his father Andrew, and one sister Kathy.A memorial visitation will be held on Friday March 25, 2011 from 3-7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside followed by a short service remembering Roberts life. The family would like to encourage everyone in attendance on Friday to dress casually especially your favorite Packer or Brewer clothing.
