Robert O. Mehne

Robert O. Bob Mehne peacefully passed into eternal life Sunday, January 6, 2013 at the age of 95, with his wife by his side. Robert was born at Almond, WI March 19, 1917 the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Kleist) Mehne. Bob graduated from Almond High School, class of 1935. On April 5, 1941 he married the former Rose M. Hungerford in Oshkosh. They enjoyed life together for 71 years. A son, Richard blessed their lives for twenty years. Robert belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church since 1945. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing the Brewers & the Green Bay Packers. Robert bowled for the Lutheran league at T & O Lanes and after retirement he bowled in the senior league at Shoreview Lanes. He was employed at Pine-Ihrig (now Kingsbury) for 28 years.After retirement they enjoyed traveling, seeing the Holy Land, Egypt, also Germany, Hawaii and to many states in the U. S. Both Bob and Rose spent eight winters in Safford, AZ in their trailer enjoying the sunshine. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rose, a sister Nila Mael of Almond. The nieces, Paula (Van) Komurka and their sons Andrew and Joel of West Bend, Christine Chilewski of Coloma, three nephews, Herbert (Judy) Mehne and their children of Menominee, WI. Rev. William (Paula) Otto of Mequon, Donald (Terri) Otto of Waukesha. Special friends Robert & Diane Zuehlsdorf , Dale & Cathy Lewis, John & Ruth Buss, Ralph & Esther Neyhard, Elsie Kleman, Carla Johnson and Lucille Miller. Also many dear friends & neighbors. Robert was preceded by his son Richard Allen Mehne, five brothers and two sisters and his parents. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 (TODAY) at 11:00 a.m. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home Westside with Rev. Kelly Leary officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials, in Bobs name, to Trinity Lutheran (370 Bowen Street, Oshkosh, WI 54901) Church would be appreciated. Also many thanks for the kindness and care shown to Robert during his illness to the staff at Sterling House and Heartland Hospice.
