Robert W. Paulsen, age 85, of Oshkosh, passed away on April 7, 2011, after an 8 year struggle with Lewy Bodys Disease. Robert was born on April 24, 1925 in Waupaca, the son of Barnie and Helen Paulsen. Robert grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh High School. On October 1, 1949 he married Marion Kolodzik in Oshkosh.Robert served his country in the United States Navy from 1942-1946, he was aboard the USS Abott Destroyer as the rank of Chief Petty officer and later was an Instructor in the Naval Reserves. He worked for Fluor Brothers Construction Company for 35 years as a Construction Superintendent. Bob loved what he did with a passion and the people he worked with. Robert was a life long member of the Elks Club of Oshkosh and the Carpenters Local 955. His passion in life was his cottage in Wild Rose. There he spent most of his life enjoying the land and all the great times he had with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren whom he adored.Robert is survived by the love of his life of 62 years, Marion. Together they had three children,James(Kris) Paulsen, Richard(Jamie) Paulsen, and Cheryl(Mike) Calo, seven grandchildren James (Lisa) Paulsen, Robert (fiancee Amanda) Paulsen, Thomas Paulsen, Matthew Paulsen, Nicole (fiance Scott) Paulsen, Rebecca (Troy) Peppler, Adam Last, three great-grandchildren Madisyn, Gracie, and Brody. He is also survived by one brother Phil Paulsen, of Watertown, Wi., four sisters Jean Syvrud, Carol Koss, Sue Kosmer all of Oshkosh and Nancy Embs of Redgranite and numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Robert will be held on Monday April 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Rev. Timothy W. Routh officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park where military honors will be performed. Roberts family would life to thank the staff at Harbor House in Oshkosh for the many years of love and care for Bob or Bobcat which they called him.
