Roger K. Schwartz, 85, of Oshkosh died Friday, October 4, 2013, at Eden Meadows, his family was at his side. He was born November 19, 1927 in Fond du Lac a son of Bernard O. and Adeline (Jahnke) Schwartz. Roger married Dolores Otto on May 19, 1949, in Oshkosh.Roger was a custodian for Oshkosh Area School District for 23 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion Cook-Fuller Post #70. Roger was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where he was an usher for 35 years. He enjoyed time with his family, bowling, gardening, oil painting, card playing, feeding the birds and squirrels, and was an avid Packer and Cubs fan.Roger is survived by his wife, Dolores of Oshkosh; a brother, Ronald (Patricia) Schwartz of Van Dyne; nieces and nephews, Larry (Linda) Schwartz of Van Dyne, Jody (J.D.) Pollom of North Fond du Lac, Kelly (Jim) Rickert of Eldorado, Scott (Sharon) Schwartz of North Fond du Lac, Trevor (Kristin) Schwartz of Fond du Lac, Troy (Amy) Schwartz of Fond du Lac, and Heather (Brad) Crooks of McKinney,TX; along with special persons, Mary Lou and Harvin Miller of Oshkosh; and many great nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Harold, and Forest; and mother-in-law, Edna Otto.A funeral service for Roger is being held Thursday, October 10, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church, Revs. Tim Greenwald and Martin Ruge officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Immediately following the service a luncheon will be served at the church. Following the luncheon burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park with military rights. A memorial is being established to First English Lutheran Church.Rogers family thanks the staffs at Eden Meadows and Aurora VNA Hospice, especially Abby, Jean, and Tammy, for all the care and help they received.
