Roger Lee Fredrick

Roger Lee Fredrick, 68 of Oshkosh died at Aurora Medical Center on Saturday, February 23, 2008. He was born in Oshkosh on September 2, 1939, a son of the late George and Della Vowels Fredrick. On September 24, 1966 he married Carol Messerschmidt in Oshkosh.Roger served in the US Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. He then was employed at Winnebago Mental Health Institute. Roger was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and loved to cook and do the grocery shopping. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.Survivors include his wife Carol of Oshkosh; one son ,Daniel (Laurie) Fredrick, Oshkosh; one daughter, Shannon Fredrick, Oshkosh; two brothers, Clarence (Peggy) Fredrick, Oshkosh; Doug (Carla) Bringman, FL; two grandchildren, Cade and Makenna Fredrick, Oshkosh; six sisters-in-law, Bev, Dorothy and Marge Fredrick, Betty Messerschmidt, Joyce (Jim) Garno and Marion (Armond) Beck, all of Oshkosh; one brother-in-law, Ben (Wally) Messerschmidt, Winneconne; nieces and nephews, and his loyal canine companions, Piper and Parker. Preceding him in death were four brothers, Carl, Jerry, Tom and Teddy Fredrick; one sister, Eva Mand; and two brothers-in-law, Clark Messerschmidt and Milt Mand.Memorial services for Roger will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 PM to the time of service. Inurnment will be at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
