Roger V. Dehn, 74 of Oshkosh passed away September 9, 2016 surrounded by family in Rapid City, South Dakota. Born in Oshkosh, April 8, 1942 to Victor and Virginia Dehn.Graduated from Oshkosh High in 1960. Roger served in the Wisconsin National Guards, 32nd Red Arrow Division from 1961 - 1965. While serving he met Judy Hardel and married his first love on September 19, 1964. Together they delighted in raising three wonderful daughters: Michele (Fred) Ubrig, Susan (Raymond) Poff and Christine Dehn (David Heath). One of Rogers lifetime joys were his six grandchildren where he continued to mentor them through their lifetime goals and interests; Mitchell (Alyssa) Ubrig, Amanda (Christopher) Purath, Raymond Poff, (Alyx Malouf), Ryan Poff, Andrew (Jade) Potratz, Allison Potratz (Zach Nigl). He was blessed with two great grandchildren: Landon & Peyton UbrigOn July 2, 2005 Roger married his second love, Nancy Underwood gaining three daughters: Lorie (Lee) Torbeck, Julie (Mike) Schmelling and Vonda (Matt) Otto; ten grandchildren: Eryn (Joe) Mansfield, Asher (Jen) Torbeck, Kaley Torbeck, Lindsay (Jared) Pelky, Adam Schmelling, Noelle (Femi) Tomori, Spencer Schmelling, Casey Otto, Chadd (Charity) Otto, Ashley Wichman; and seven great grandchildren: Cade, Evie & Avery Mansfield, Mason & McKinley Torbeck, Kody & Aspen Otto. Roger and his father owned and operated Victor Dehn & Son Livestock & General Trucking. In 1980, Roger bought the trucking business from his parents renaming the business Dehn Trucking of Oshkosh Inc which Roger continued to operate up until the time of his unexpected death. Rogers love for agriculture and trucking was evident by his devotion to his business, loyalty to his customers and hard work to keep the business operating for 53 years.Roger was a loyal Green Bay Packer fan, he rarely missed a game. As many people know, he loved to kick up his heels dancing and listening to Polka music. Another interest of his was gardening and he was known for growing the largest muskmelon. He enjoyed roasting garden fresh sweet corn and making his specialty Bloody Marys at family gatherings.Roger is survived by his mother Virgina Dehn, sister Mary (Bruce) Peterson, brother-in-laws Marshal (Paula) Spencer & Don Smith and many cousins, nieces and nephews.Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Judy Dehn; his father, Victor Dehn; father in-law, Clyde Hardel, sisters & brother in-laws Zannie Smith & Beatrice (Jim) Reeves as well as his lifetime buddies Jim Tigert and Jerry Raddatz.The family would like to thank the staff of the Surgical ICU at Rapid City Regional Hospital in South Dakota for providing exceptional care to Roger and also thank Bob Tigert for taking care of the daily trucking operations during this time.Family and friends may call on Friday, September 16, 2016 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1072 Honey Creek Rd, Oshkosh from 4 PM 8 PM and Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 10 AM 11 AM at All Saints Lutheran Church with the funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Kim Krogstad officiating. Burial will be at Ellenwood Cemetery.The family welcomes everyone to wear their Green Bay Packer apparel during Fridays visitation. A memorial has been established.
