Ronald L Wissink

May 12, 1937 — April 1, 2023

Ronald L. Wissink was called to go fishing with our Lord on Saturday, April 1st, 2023.

Ron was born on May 12th, 1937, to the late Clarence and Ann Wissink of Oshkosh, WI. He married Ruth Hartman, his wife of 65 years, on August 17th, 1957. Ron worked in various roles at Rockwell International and retired as Plant Manager in 1992. Ron proudly served eight years in the U.S. National Guard.

Surviving Ron are his devoted wife Ruth; five children: Susan Calo, Debra Fernau, Richard (Shelli), Thomas (Kelly), and Michael (Becky); grandchildren: Mindy, Lindsay, Bradyn, Joshua, Bailey (Bradley), Casey (Becky), Cody (Kenzie), Corey (Brooke), Kelsey (Adam), Jacob, Emersen, Easton, Nolan, Mackenzie (Sam), Brittanie, Colin, and Corrina; twin brother Donald (Carole) Wissink who he shared an indelible bond, sisters Nancy (Dan) Robe, Diane (Jerry) Cummings; sister in-laws Judy (Reuben) and Nancy (Henry) Hartman; great-grandchildren: Amya, Alayah, Avielle, Owen, Khai, Charlee, Oliver, Ezden, Harvey, Hattie Jo, and Arlo; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents Clarence and Ann Wissink, in-laws Henry and Emilie Hartman, brother in-laws Reuben and Henry Hartman, and Niece Patty (Wissink) Parker.

Dad enjoyed spending time with his family in simple ways such as camping, boating, hunting, spending time at “the cabin” and eating peanuts with his twin brother. We also have many fond memories of our entire family working at the Winnebago County Fair and attending stock car races at Leo’s Speedway. Besides his family, fishing was his true passion and he talked about fishing for walleye on Lake Winnebago right up to the day he passed.

He left his children with a strong work ethic, commitment to family, and a “fix-it-yourself” spirit when it comes to home projects. From plumbing to electrical, automotive repairs to carpentry. He truly was amazing.

Visitation for Ron will be from 3:30 – 5:00 PM at the Countryside Christian Church (1483 Burr Oak Rd) on Thursday, April 13, 2023. Visitation will be followed by a service at 5:00 PM and Military Honors at 5:30 PM.

Dad is deeply missed by our entire family.

Hope you catch the big one dad!
