Ronald L. Freiberg, age 86, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Evergreen Health Center. He was born on May 26, 1930 in Fond du Lac, the son of Walter and Fern (Rivers) Freiberg. Ron proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict in the Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. After returning home, he was united in marriage to Rhea F. Miller on October 16, 1954. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Rhea preceded him in death in 1976. Ron was a lineman for WPS for over 30 years. He loved his dogs, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the family farm in Colfax. Later in life he married Beverly Tarr.Ron is survived by his children: Tim (Debbie) Freiberg, Tom (Cheryl) Freiberg and Linda (Randy) Rueger all of Oshkosh; five grandchildren: Rachael (Pat Killian) Freiberg, Jesse Freiberg, Angela (Justin) Abbott, Brian Rueger, and Erin (Nate) Patten; four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Gavin and Hudson Abbott, Mikayla Rueger and soon expecting Nola Killian. Ron was preceded in death by grandson, Matthew Freiberg, brother, Sonny Freiberg, his father, Walter Freiberg, mother and step-father, Fern and Ernie Sell.Private memorial service was held and inurnment took place at Lake View Memorial Park, next to Rhea.
