Ronald Friedrich Nelson has passed away on July 23, 2024 at 84 years of age.

Ron was born March 20, 1940, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, born to Earl H. Nelson and Eleanor L. Nelson (Friedrich).

Ron was a very proud U.S. Navy veteran, serving April 23, 1958 to April 19, 1962 on the USS Hazelwood for a short time before boarding the USS Randolph. After serving, Ron had married and had two children, Debra and Ronnie, but soon divorced then, after some time, met Judith Klabunde, who he married and had two more children, Susan and Robert.

Ron was a hard worker, a devoted husband, and always kept himself busy. He had many interests throughout his life- British and American motorcycles, classic cars and trucks (especially Ford), fishing, hunting, and socializing with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his helpfulness, generosity, and quick-wit.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Judith (Klabunde) Nelson, of 56 years, as well as brothers John ("Jack") Nelson (Andrea), Steve ("Toby") Nelson (Vicki), and Earl Nelson; sister Patsy Spletter; daughters Debra Chase (Greg) and Susan Tank (Dan); sons Ronald Nelson (Tamara) and Robert Nelson (Tina); grandchildren Karly, Kelsey, Sarah, Trevor, Allen, Nancy and Patrick; and many great grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Eleanor; brothers Jerry and Donald; sisters Sharon and Judi; and granddaughter Kami.

Visitation is set for Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 9:00 am to noon, followed by a military send-off at gravesite, at Lakeview Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh.
