Rose Marie Behlman, 90 of Oshkosh, after living 23 years with a donated kidney from her son, surviving two cancers and beating COVID-19 in September, was not able to beat dementia and died on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Rose was born in Oshkosh on July 31, 1930, a daughter of Joseph and Martha Stenzel Kuske. She married Richard Behlman on April 24, 1948. Richard preceded her in death on August 7, 1992. Rose retired from Mercy Medical Center after 23 years as a unit clerk in the OB department. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish where she was very active, serving on the Worship and Spiritual Life Committee, Christian Women, Crafters, Marian Choir, Funeral Luncheon Committee, usher/greeter at Mass, as well as many others.
Survivors include three children, Kathleen (Philip) Auck of Wautoma, William (Jeannie) Behlman of Oshkosh, and Julie (Tim) Schissel of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Brent Auck of Argentina, Benjamin Schissel of Rosendale, Nicholas (Fiancee Amanda Leasa) Schissel of Oshkosh, and Erin Schissel of Madison; and one sister Nancy (John) Salzer of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Harriet Hanneman and LaVern Wickert.
Due to COVID-19, a private Mass will be held for the family with burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A memorial for Most Blessed Sacrament has been established and can be sent in the Behlman name to Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes at 402 Waugoo Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54901.
