After dating for 10 years, in 1959 Ross married his first love, Chloe Scharfenberg, which totaled 75 years of togetherness.
Ross was so blessed with heartfelt friends, caring students, loyal teachers and devoted Neenah baseball players, whom of which he had a special bond. The 1972 team won the State Baseball Championship, which hadn't happened before this date and hasn't been repeated since. He treasured all of his baseball teams.
Ross had various interests and activities, like bowling, golf, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating, hunting and trap shooting. No matter what activity, his signature was quiet, dry humor, bringing joy. Relationships were important to him. It's true that the best and most beautiful things cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. Thank you Ross for the gift of a warm heart.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at ThedaCare in Neenah, Whispering Pines Rehab, Ripon Hospital, Oakridge Gardens Rehab, Hospice, Valley Nursing School and the Oshkosh Station 17 paramedics. All cared for Ross with compassion and dignity through his seven-week journey of incurable Lewy Body Parkinsons, which is a quick onset, fast moving disease that weakens body movement and muscle function.
