Royal Gene Boese

Royal Gene Boese, age 69 of Oshkosh, passed away at home Wednesday, August 24, 2016, after years of multiple illnesses. He was born on November 6, 1946 the son of the late Norman Sr. and Geraldine (Jewson) Boese. Royal married Linda Robbins on December 26, 2001.Royal was a graduate of Oshkosh High school in 1965. He worked at Universal Foundry and Mercury Marine as a machinist for 37 years where he retired in 2008. He enjoyed and spent time with family on gambling outings. Also, he spent time fishing with his brothers and hunting in his younger years. He had gathered a large Ducks Unlimited decanter collection too. Royal was also a former member of the Otter Street Fishing Club. Royal enjoyed the company of family reminiscing of his childhood years as he was part of a large family in Oshkosh. He also enjoyed spending porch time with neighborhood friends which were like family to him. As he was looking forward to the football season starting, he will truly miss the Badgers and Packers as he was an avid fan.Royal is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Carla (John) Hoppe; granddaughters, Rachel Plantz and Julia Hoppe; brothers, Richard (Julie), Marvin (Darlene), Roger (Joan), Norman Jr (Julie) , Andy (Betty) and Greg (Anne) Boese; sisters, Helen (Val) Juedes, Pam (Mark) Juedes and Laura Boese. Sisters-in law, Jackie Boese and Donna (Robert) Fillion; brother-in law, Harold (Joan) Robbins and Son-in law, Richard Plantz. Also, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Royal was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Plantz; granddaughter, Jenna Hoppe; brothers, Bradley, Clifford and Robert Boese.A private family memorial service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home in Oshkosh.The family would like to thank Affinity health providers and Hospice services. Also a special thank you to Lisa and Crystal, caregivers, for always putting up with his spunky attitude while providing gentle care.Your sense of humor will never be forgotten as you made us laugh up to your final days. The stories told will live on through memories. You are finally at peace with your daughter and granddaughter who have gone before you this year to welcome you Home; along with family and friends who have gone before. You came across to others as this big bear with your growl but had a big heart and touch of a teddy bear. Your family and friends will love and miss you always.
