Ruby H. M. Lyness

Ruby H. Lyness, 93 of Oshkosh, died Thursday December 11, 2008 at the Aurora Medical Center, She was born in the town of Nekimi on October 3, 1915 daughter of William and Emma Post Janke. On September 23, 1937 she married Raymond Lyness. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1998. Ruby was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Nekimi. She had worked seasonally at Miles Kimball and at Green Giant in Rosendale. She was a member of the Rebecca Circle; loved gardening, cooking and baking; traveling; and spending time with her family who were very important to her.Ruby is survived by her daughters, Judith (Donald) Schultz, and Marcia (Thomas) Galica both of Oshkosh; daughter-in-law, Darlene Lyness of Fond du Lac, WI; six grandchildren, Cindy (Larry) Verzal of Oshkosh, Kim (Dave) Butz of Fond du Lac, WI, Vickie (Tom) Michels of Van Dyne, WI, Cathy (Ken) Jupp of Iola, WI, Heidi Galica, and Buffi Galica both of Oshkosh; twelve great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Lyness in 2000 and by her sisters, Margaret Wilde, Rhea Wilde, Hilda Tigert and Adeline Schwartz.Her funeral will be Monday December 15, 2008 at Noon at St. John Lutheran Church in Nekimi with Rev. James Reiff officiating. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
