Ruby I. Folske

Our mother, aunt, cousin and friend Ruby I Folske, passed away at the age of 89. She was born on August 5, 1928 to Edward and Eva Durant Sweetalla. She went to local schools and graduated from Oshkosh High School. Ruby was a member of Our Savior Lutheran church and on February 6, 1948 she married the love of her life Alvin Folske. They shared 65 years together before he preceded her in death on August 8, 2013.
Ruby worked in Sales all her life, retiring from J.C.Penney at the age of 79. She loved to sew, knit, and crochet. Special thank you to Darlene for the trips up North, Janet and Brady for the visits and lunch at Dairy Queen, Sandy and Mary Kay for the soups and the wonderful corn roasts, Sharon for the delicious candy from Oaks, Rueben for the go cart I didn’t get to drive but the thought was there and to Bryan for grocery shopping and Dr. appointments.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Kay(Tom) Jones, two sons Rick(Jennifer) Folske, Bruce(Peggy) Folske, seven grandchildren Jason Folske, Troy Folske, Christopher Folske, Bryan Folske, Erik Folske, Joshua Miller, Ashley Miller, 6 great-grandchildren Wesley, Wyatt, Parker, Peyton, Veronica, Madaline, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved so much.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, her son Jerry, her parents, one brother Roman Sweetalla, sisters Lenora(Herman) Folske, Donna(Robert) Nicolaison. Further preceded in death by Alvin’s eight siblings and their spouses and Alvin’s parents Herman and Hadwig Folske
A memorial service will be held on Monday October 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Jan Veseth officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in Lake View Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank Park View Health Center for the tender loving care their mother received and special thanks to nurses Angie and Rachael and Aurora at Home Hospice.
