Ruby R. Stowe

Ruby R. Stowe, 94 of Oshkosh, died Friday August 1, 2008 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born on May 9, 1914 the youngest daughter of Orrin and Josie Merrill Borst. On August 23, 1933 she married Ottar H. Sandbeck in Waukegan, IL. She married Edward T. Stowe on July 8, 1955 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on November 20, 2002. Ruby was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh where she was active in many of the activities of the women of the church. She enjoyed gardening; card playing; and dancing. She had been employed by Oshkosh BGosh.She is survived by four daughters, Rosalind Buck of Oshkosh, Nona Erickson of Omro, Geraldine (Richard) Hammer of Cincinnati, OH, and Norlene (Richard) Payne of Oshkosh; a son, Jerome (Elaine) Sandbeck of Fond du Lac; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; and by sixteen great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands; three brothers, Ralph, Simon and Henry; five sisters, Mary, Hazel, Gladys, Bernice, and an infant sister; and two sons/in/law, Gerald Buck and Ken Erickson.Her funeral will be on Monday August 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society has been established.
