Russell J. Anklam

Russell J. Anklam, age 81, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away peacefully August 8, 2005 at Bethel Home with his family at his side. He was born on September 19, 1923 on the family homestead in the town of Nepeuskum, the son of Albert and Lottie (Seymour) Anklam.Russell was married to Amber Drews on May 15, 1946. Together they lived on the family homestead in Pickett until January, 1966, when they moved to Omro where they resided until May, 1997.Russell served on the School Board for the Towns of Nepeuskum and Utica for 16 years. After moving to Omro, he took up carpentry work from which he retired in 1992.He loved to travel, spending many winter months in Winter Haven, Florida. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his four daughters and eight grandchildren.He is survived by his loving wife, Amber, and his four daughters; Nancy (Douglas) Conley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Karen (Edwin) Sheppard of Fond du Lac, Sandra (Walter) Juedes of Ripon, and Bonnie (Robin) Last of Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Megan Conley, Dr. Stephanie (Benjamin) Brye, Melinda and Eddie Sheppard, Lesley and Timothy Juedes, and Angela and Sean Last.Russell is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wesley and Lyle, and two sisters, Agnes Bradley and Adeline Bradley.Funeral service for Russell will be held on Friday August 12, 2005 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside at 11:00am with Rev. Ralph Hanusa officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the hour of service. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.The family would like to thank Bethel Home, especially the staff on 2- East, and Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice for their loving care in his final days.
