Russell “Russ” Hemminghaus, age 69, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. He was born on August 30, 1952, in Oshkosh to Carl and Mary (Achterberg) Hemminghaus. Russ married Marian Ruedinger on October 12, 1974, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Russ worked most of his life as a self-employed Dairy Farmer. Upon retiring he worked for a time at Mike Rabe Trucking and most recently for Menards in Oshkosh. Russ had an incredible talent for woodworking and would often make furniture for his family. He also always took great pride in gardening and finding new flowers or plants to decorate the yard. Russ found joy in being with his family, helping with his grandchildren, and being the best supporter at the many sporting activities of all his grandkids. He had a kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need and never hesitated to put others before himself.
Russ is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marian Hemminghaus; son, Brian (Jenny) Hemminghaus; daughter, Hollie (Eric) Aronson; five grandchildren: Adrianna Geddes, Donovan Hemminghaus, Logan, Chase and Turner Aronson; mother, Mary Hemminghaus; and sister, Sandy (Steve) Last. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Hemminghaus.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh with Fr. Tom Long officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh. Russ was always most comfortable in a pair of jeans, so the family is asking that you come comfortable and keep it casual.
Russ was a huge supporter of his grandkids and if you wish to continue his support, in lieu of flowers please support the great causes of The Autism Society of the Fox Valley or the Oshkosh Lourdes Academy Booster Club.
