Ruth A. Berholtz, age 97, passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born on October 16, 1917 to the late William and Gertrude (Pasicka) Timmermann in the town of Nekimi. She was married to Melvin J. Berholtz on October 16, 1943 by Pastor C.J. Lange at Peace Lutheran Church.Ruth was both a lifelong member at Peace Lutheran Church and a Sunday school teacher for 10 years. She was both a County and State President of the Ladies Auxiliary of Beekeepers in Wisconsin. She and Melvin enjoyed 55 years of beekeeping together. They worked side by side in their honey business until Melvins passing on October 25, 1997. Ruth traveled with her husband through the continental US, plus Alaska and Hawaii, and many of the European countries. She was always up for a game of Sheepshead and was a member of the Smear and Kroweldeen card clubs for many years.She is survived by her two sons: Stephen (Kathleen) Berholtz and Keith (Wanda) Berholtz, both of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Angela, Matthew, Jeffrey, Brian, and Kristen; and one beloved great grandson, Antwan. She is also survived by her sister and brother in law, Jane and Howard Beck and her special daughter-in-law, Sharon Berholtz. Ruth had two special neighbors: Elaine Bradley and Kathleen Brennand. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; and infant son, Jeffrey, both her and her husbands parents; brother, Nile Timmermann, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Bill Jones, along with all her husbands brothers and sisters. She was the last living person on the Berholtz side of that generation.A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside with Rev. John Worzala-Dumke officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery.The family would like to send a very, very special thank you to each and every one of the staff at Eden Meadows that provided the most amazing love and care for Ruth over the last three years. She was proud to call Eden Meadows her home and became good friends with all the staff and many of the residents as well. Memorials are encouraged to be given to the Teachers Closet care of Peace Lutheran Church. Mom, you were a guiding light to us. One day, we will be able to hug and kiss you and see the special smile that you always had. God bless, your boys, Steve and Keith.
