Ruth A. Shrock died peacefully in her sleep Monday, September 26, at Mercy Hospital Janesville, WI. Ruth was born in Oshkosh on January 13, 1921 and was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh until a move this summer to an assisted living facility in Milton, WI to be nearer her daughters. On February 27, 1945 she married Paul E. Shrock. Paul preceded her in death on July 13, 2000.She was employed as a registered nurse at Winnebago Mental Health Institute for over thirty years and retired from there in 1981. Ruth made a lifetime commitment to serving God and the members of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in many capacities including Womens Guild, senior choir, Sunday school, Bible Study Club, visiting shut-ins, and volunteering in the school. She loved knitting, crocheting, doing ceramics, and many different crafts. Ruth was a generous woman who was always willing to give of herself to any individual or worthy cause that needed her help.Ruth is survived by her daughters Pat (Lee) Holdshoe of Delevan, WI, Linda (Gary) Rehfeldt of Evansville, WI; a son Jerry (Sofie Trujillo) Shrock of Boulder, CO; grandchildren Christopher Koecher of Corpus Christi, TX, Amanda Holdshoe, Collin and Carmen Rehfeldt, and Stephen Trujillo-Shrock. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, and brother Earl Disch.Funeral service for Ruth will be Saturday, October 1 at 11: 00 AM at Martin Luther Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Berg officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the service time. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established.
