Ruth Anna Utech

June 15, 1920 — February 11, 2009

Ruth Anna Utech, Park View Health Center, went home to her Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2009. She was born to Christ and Marie Karrow on June 15, 1920 in Seymour, WI, was later adopted by Ferdinand and Anna Benz. She married Arley Utech on April 12, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa. Arley preceded her in death on January 30, 1979. Active in church work throughout her life, Ruth served in multiple leadership roles with the LWML and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. A homemaker, writer, and seamstress, Ruth was also an Avon representative for many years. Survivors include one son, Michael (Judi), Appleton; three daughters, Sue (Bruce) Kirk, Kimberly; Sharon (Bill) Steffen, Oshkosh; Sally Wilke, Chicago; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Ardys Irish, Seymour and Audrey Weishoff, Kenosha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, David Wilke; one sister, Verona Helmke; and her brother, Milton Wendorf.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 370 Bowen Street, Oshkosh, WI. Friends and family may call at the church from 9:00 until the service begins. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Merrill, WI in the spring. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
