Ruth A. Mitchell, 74, of Oshkosh died Sunday March 13, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born February 3, 1937 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late Leo and Mary Jakubiak Langkau. Ruth married John Mitchell on August 28, 1972 in Ashland and he preceded her in death on July 22, 1992. Ruth was a member of the former St. Josaphat Catholic Church (now Most Blessed Sacrament). She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and was a great pen-pal. She is survived by two sisters Barbara Olejnik of Oshkosh and Mary Ann (Thomas) Figel of Brownsville; two brothers Leo (Carol Stewart) Langkau and Joseph (Judy) Langkau both of Oshkosh; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding her in death were a step-daughter Karol Mitchell, a sister Kathleen Langkau, and three brothers William Langkau, Richard Langkau, and Leonard Langkau. A private memorial service will be held with Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established to the American Diabetes Association (375 Bishops Way Suite 220, Milwaukee WI 53005). Ruths family would like to thank the staff and friends at ArborView Manor and to special neighbors Karon and Dale.
