Ruth Anne Wright

Ruth Anne Wright, 56, of Oshkosh, passed away December 22, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born August 14, 1953 in Green Bay, a daughter of Lloyd and Barbara (Moomau) Wright. Ruth grew up in Kewaunee and graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1971. She went on to attend UW-Green Bay from which she graduated in 1975.Ruth had a great zest for life, enjoyed meeting people and had the most unique talent of being able to easily make friends wherever she worked or travelled. Her job as a travel agent enabled her to live out her love to travel, especially to sunny tropical islands. She possessed a great sense of humor which she shared with most anyone she met. Ruth was an excellent knitter and spent many hours making beautiful wool sweaters, socks, stocking caps and afghans for family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and closely followed the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.Ruth worked as a travel agent and had the great fortune to work nearly 30 years for her good friends Rocky and Nina Lieb, and Steve and Susie Lieb, starting with Uni-Travel and for the last many years with Ambassador Travel. She also worked part-time as a bartender, most recently with Kodiak Jacks. She also held numerous dog sitting jobs for her many friends throughout the Oshkosh area.Ruth is survived by her mother, Barbara Wright of Kewaunee; two brothers, Larry (Sue) Wright, Appleton and their four children, Nicholas, Brittany, Daniel and Madeline; and Lloyd Wright, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; and four sisters, Sarah Wright, Chicago; Elizabeth Vander Heyden (special friend Brian Linsmeier), Green Bay and her three children, April and Ashley Vander Heyden and Dennis Rucinski; Mary (Jeff) Serafico, Sturgeon Bay and their three children Adrian, Stella and Scarlet; and Carrie (Pat) Dorn, Luxemburg and their two children Matthew and Sawyer. She is also survived by one great-niece, Mackenzie and one great-nephew, Caden. Ruth was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Wright, and two nieces, Alyssa Dorn and Alaya Serafico.A memorial service for Ruth will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 1:30 pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Robert Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be at the public cemetery in Kewaunee. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
