Ruth Arline Luther

Ruth A. Luther, 82, of Oshkosh died Friday December 30, 2011 at Eden Meadows. She was born August 28, 1929 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late George and Esther (Pollack) Sonnenberg. Ruth married Ray E. Luther on September 23, 1950 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1981. Ruth had worked at Miles Kimball Co. for 40 years retiring in 1991. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she was very active. She also did volunteer work at the Oshkosh Senior Center and Mercy Medical Center-Passport 55. She also enjoyed time with her beloved dog Schatzie. Ruths survivors include a sister June Stearns of Oshkosh and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by a sister Bernice and three brothers, Orville, Harland, and Lyle. Funeral services for Ruth will be held Tuesday January 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Rev. Nancy Krueger officiating. Visitation will be at the church Tuesday from noon until the service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial in Ruths name is being established for the Peace Lutheran Church-Organ Fund.Ruths family would like to thank the staffs at both Bethel Home and Eden Meadows for the wonderful care that she received.
