Ruth Hazel Ruprich

July 31, 1916 — March 2, 2011

Ruth Ruprich, 94 of Oshkosh died March 2, 2011 at Evergreen Retirement Community. She was born in Eau Claire, WI on July 31, 1916, the daughter of Martin and Augusta Legge Bjerke. On November 12, 1940 she married Elmer Ruprich. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1979.Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. For thirty years she spent the winters down South with her daughters and family. She cherished the time that she spent with her grand and great grand children to whom she was Nana.Ruth worked for over twenty-five years at Jeffreys Clothing Store. She was a lifelong member of First English Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She had also been an active member of the Christian Fellowship Society. She was a member of the Twentieth Century Club and loved playing bridge; being with friends; and especially watching the PACKERS.Surviving Ruth are her two daughters, Karen (John) McCarthy of Greensboro, NC, and Barbara (Michael) Will of Dunwoody, GA; six grandchildren, Shannon (Trish) McCarthy of Pittsburgh, PA, Shelly (James) Haas of Cleveland Heights, OH, Carrie Anne (Bradley) Ivey of Greensboro, NC, Chad (LeeAnne) Will of Birmingham, AL, Jodie (Brian) Zwerner of Atlanta, GA, and Amy (Hardy) Brumfield of Altlanta, GA; thirteen reat grandchildren, Delany and Mary Ella McCarthy, Egan, Cormick, and rowan Haas, Kelsey and Paige Ivey, Parker and Mason Will, Alexander and Kensington Zwerner, and Prooke and Thomson Brumfield.Ruths funeral will be on Saturday March 5, 2011 at Noon at the First English Lutheran Church with the Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Burial will be in the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the First English Lutheran Church of to Evergreen Retirement Community Benevolent Fund. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the loving and caring staff at Evergreen Retirement Community.
