Ruth M Esslinger

Ruth M. Esslinger, age 99, of Oshkosh, passed away at Park View Health Center on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. She was born in Oshkosh on April 12, 1919, to the late John and Marie (Pfaffenroth) Weigandt. Ruth married Victor Esslinger on May 23, 1941 and they had two daughters. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh and lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (John) Schroeder; grandchildren Daniel (Renee) Damerow, Debbie (Joe) Joles, Ryan (Diane) Schroeder, Sara (Jesse) Reichenberger, and her six great grandchildren Jarrett, Regan, Nolan, Ian, Bryce, and Lauren.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Vic, her daughter Judy Damerow and all her siblings Albert Weigandt, William Weigandt, Edward Weigandt, Mildred King, Marie Leinweber, Leon Lowell, Jane Scheurmann, Dorothy Jordan, and Barbara Schmidt.
For those who were blessed to know her, they knew a hard-working, strong-willed German woman and loving caregiver. She adored her family, especially catering to her grandkids and great grandkids. Ruth was particularly talented in cooking and doing crafts for her family.
A funeral service for Ruth will be held at noon on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 11am until the time of service. Rev. Jeffrey Knoll will be officiating. Burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park after the service.
