Ruth May Pettit-Bunke

Ruth M. Pettit Bunke, 96, of Oshkosh died Friday July 7, 2006 at Evergreen Retirement Community-Creekview. She was born Feb. 22, 1910 in Oshkosh a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Weideman Farber. Ruth married Ernest W. Pettit on July 6, 1929 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1953. She then married Leo Bunke on Nov. 10, 1962 in Oshkosh and he preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1980. Ruth was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She is survived by eight children Dorothy (Lawrence)Pfaffenroth, Walter (Shirley) Pettit, James (Charlotte) Pettit, Carol (Eugene) Harnitz all of Oshkosh, Ernest Pettit of MO, Thomas (Kathryn) Pettit of TX, Dale Pettit and John (Ruth) Pettit both of Oshkosh; a brother Ralph Farber of Oshkosh; a sister-in-law June Breager of Oshkosh; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Manthie; four sisters Goldie Schreiber, Pearl Griedl, Janet Schettle, and Esther Farber; and two brothers Walter Farber and Alvin Breager. Funeral service for Ruth will be held Monday July 10, 2006 at 7:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Family and friends may call at the Lake Pointe Dr. funeral home on Monday from 5 PM until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established. Ruths family would like to thank the staffs at Sharehaven and Evergreen Retirement Community for all their help and care.
