Sandra A. Klabunde

Sandra Ann Klabunde, age 78 of Oshkosh, passed away at Bethel Home on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born on December 7, 1943 to the late Alfred and Kathryn (Rushesky) Klabunde in Oshkosh.

Sandra was an elementary school teacher in Durango, Colorado for 23 years, where she cherished teaching Spanish children. After she returned to Oshkosh, she continued her love of teaching by tutoring a number of children.

She was member of Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, and the former St. Josaphat Catholic Church.

Sandra never let her journey with Multiple Sclerosis stop her from doing the things she loved. She was a woman who was always on the move. She enjoyed attending city functions, visiting The Grand Opera House and the Paine Art Center in Oshkosh. She also traveled to Ireland and London.

She was a Snoopy fanatic, had many Snoopy treasures and even named one of her beloved dogs after him.

She wouldn’t miss a Packer game on TV, and would reward herself with a Hughes Chocolate after a touchdown.

Sandra is survived by her great niece and nephew, Nicole and Steven Klabunde, cousin, Barb (Carl) Salzer, and several other cousins. She is further survived by her life-long friend, Bonnie Krause Gams, and former caregiver, Debbie Karns.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Klabunde I, and nephew, Thomas Klabunde II.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Peter’s site, 449 High Ave. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Jerome Pastors officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Private inurnment will be held at Riverside Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Sandra’s family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Bethel Home for the wonderful care provided to her throughout her time there.
