January 14, 2015, Sandra, age 73, died peacefully with her loving daughters, Kelly and Jan, at her side. Along with them were devoted caregivers and nurses of Heartland Hospice and The Waterford, as well as, Pastor John. Sandy was born September 1, 1941, to Robert and Ruth (Radig) Case in Oshkosh, WI. She married Richard H. Ristow on July 21, 1962, at Peace Lutheran Church of Oshkosh. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, January 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by parents, Robert and Ruth Case, and sister, Diane Case. Her survivors include daughters, Kelly (Ristow) Sherman and Peter, and Jan Ristow, and two granddaughters, Alexandra Ristow and Hannah Sherman all of Oshkosh. Also surviving are her siblings Peggy (Case) Nigl (Larry), Robert Case (Peggy), and Bonnie Case, along with many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.Sandy was a 1959 Oshkosh High School graduate, and she worked 20 years for The Baxandall Company/Workforce Communications as well as Oshkosh Truck Corporation for 8 years where she retired early from to care for her first granddaughter, Alexandra. Sandra gave a lifetime of devotion to all of her family and especially loved the time she spent with her granddaughters and all the fun things they did together. She enjoyed many bus trips across the country with her close family and friends and attending shows at The Fireside. She gave her family and extended family so many fond memories that will be cherished forever. If ever there was a true lady, in every sense of the word, it was Sandy Ristow.Sandra's daughters would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice, especially Deb and Ann as well as The Waterford caregivers-- Tosheba, Kate, Nicole, Lisa, RN.--who all loved her like their own grandma. Also thanks to Bluestone MD, Mary Deli, RN. Thank you for giving our mother the love and dignity she so rightly deserved and for your support when we needed it. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 17th, from 9am to noon at Peace Lutheran Church of Oshkosh on 9th Avenue, with istow family friend Rev.John Worzala-Dumke officiating. A service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at noon. A private burial will be held for immediate family.A memorial has been established.
