Scott S. Sweet

September 19, 1955 — July 15, 2022

Scott S. Sweet, loving husband, father, brother, and friend left this world too soon on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the age of 66. Born in Waterloo, IA on September 19, 1955, and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Scott was the first-born to the late Alfred and Shirley (Liedke) Sweet. Often referred to as Little Al, Scott was the clone of his father Big Al in their appearance, habits, and temperament.
Scott graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974 and maintained lifelong relationships with several friends through their shared passion for golf and bird hunting. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from UW-Whitewater, and worked most of his career in business banking, retiring from JP Morgan Chase in 2013.  He loved working with his clients and maintained friendships with many of them after his retirement.
Scott always looked forward to quality time with his family. He married Lynn Miller on March 30, 1992 in Las Vegas- a day also marked by a very rare tornado occurrence. As a father to two girls, Amanda and Ashley, Scott was thrilled to watch his daughters participate in various sports and events. Marveling at their abilities were some of the best times of his life. He instilled in them a passion for travel, people watching, and sarcasm- or the rare activity that involved all three- like sipping sangria at Salduba pub while the yachts and Ferraris pulled into Puerto Banús, Spain.
Anyone who knew Scott also knew he had a love affair with the game of golf. He sped around town with personalized ‘Own18th’ license plates commemorating his ace on the final hole at Oshkosh Country Club. Scrambling with the Buffoons on Friday afternoons was the highlight of his week. His love for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers, and tradition of attending games at their home fields and across the country, will live on for generations. Following retirement, he achieved a lifelong dream of wintering in Naples, Florida. There you could find Scott, Lynn, and their beloved goldendoodle Murphy cruising around the community in a customized golf cart.
Scott is survived by adoring family and friends across the world- his wife, Lynn; daughters, Amanda (Jacob Fraser) Sweet of Hermosa Beach, CA, and Ashley (Jason Bagby) Sweet-Bagby of Everett, WA; sisters, Julia Sweet of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Anne (Christophe Fede) Sweet of Paris, France; stepmother, Maria Sweet of Marbella, Spain; brother-in-law Steve (Nancy) Miller of Brevard, NC. His legacy will live on with the arrival of his first grandchildren due in August 2022 and another in February 2023.  In addition, he leaves behind dear friends Scot and Deb Herman, R Bob, Doof, and Terri Richardson.
The family would like to thank the amazing providers at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, Aurora Interventional Radiology, and the staff at Eden Meadows.
A service for Scott will be held at Konrad-Behlman Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 5PM. A visitation will be held from 3PM until the time of service.  As a celebration of life, colorful attire is encouraged.  Libations will be enjoyed at his favorite haunt following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society.
