Shirley M. Gilbert

Shirley M. Gilbert, 91, of Oshkosh, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital-Oshkosh on Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born in St. Catharines, Ontario on September 12, 1930 to the late Robert and Mildred (Smith) Branch.

Shirley married Charles Gilbert on July 8, 1950 in Lake Bluff, IL. They were blessed with five children. Shirley devoted most of her life to raising her family. She was a professional seamstress, and also ran the lunch program for Lake Forest Public Schools in Illinois.

Shirley proudly served the community by volunteering 27 years at St. Vincent de Paul.

She is survived by her children: Ronald (Kathy) Gilbert, Tina (Steve) Onusko, Sherri (Gary) Creamer-Shaw, and Sandra (John) Shufelt; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her family who was adopted in spirit: Eric Corporan and Heather Schmackle.

Shirley is united in death with her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Gilbert, their son, Roger Gilbert, and her sister, Marilyn Critcher.

A funeral service for Shirley will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.
