Shirley Lund, of Oshkosh, age 79, passed away at her home under the care of her family and hospice on November 29, 2014. She was born on March 27, 1935 in Oshkosh the daughter of Karl and Margaret Fink Schneider. She married Robert Mert Lund on August 27, 1955. They were wed for 59 years. She bravely fought Breast Cancer, Cario Obstructed Pulmonary Disease(COPD) and Congestive Heart Failure with all her will and determination. Shirley was the very best wife, mother, and grandmother one could have in their live. She was the worlds greatest Brewer fan and was loved by everyone whose heart she had touched. She loved the game of cribbage, making the most beautiful crafts and bus trips to the casino. She was a collector of humming birds and elephants, and she always reminded us all that the elephant trunk must be up, because it represented good luck. For 34 years Shirley and Mert enjoyed summer vacations at a cottage on Long Lake in Saxeville, Wi. Everyone was always welcome to come and visit them when they were there. We all enjoyed the fish that were caught by Mert and prepared by Shirley.Shirley was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and volunteered for many Peace Lutheran Church functions and activities. Shirley loved to sew and in the early days of Richards School of the Dance she made many of the costumes for the dance recitals.Mom is survived by her husband Mert, daughters Cindy(Al) Frost, their children Catelyn and Bryan; Jan(Sean) Adams; sons Gary(Kay) Lund, their children Brennan, and MeKenzie; and Kurt(Fiancee Jill), his children Megan, Sara and Bobbie, her brother Ken(Mildred) Schneider of Waterloo, Iowa, sister-in-law Judy of Oshkosh, many nieces, nephews, and special friends Ken and Joan Houle of Wabeno. She was preceded in death by her son Alan Jay, her brother Ronald and her parents Karl and Margaret.Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church(240 W. 9th ave) with Rev.
